These 2 images of Jupiter were captured using a color Lumenera Infinity camera witha 2x Televue Powermate and Starmaster 18 telescope.  Imaged at 10,000' on Haleakala, Maui in 2010.

Color Lunar DSLR Imaging and Processing

My imaging setup for these images includes the following:  Starmaster 18 telescope, Nikon D300 camera body, Televue 2x Powermate.  The first image below is the result of a stack of about 8 frames captured raw and converted to TIFF and stacked into a single image with Registax software.







After resizing the TIFF frame, I opened it in photoshop CS5 and used a plugin called Topaz Adjust (Spicify).


I next adjusted the contrast in PS:



Next, I added saturation in PS:

Here is another lunar color image captured in the same manner.  This image, however, was captured near sea level, hence the colors are not as brilliant as the above examples which were imaged at 10,000'.
