Day 3 of 1401 and 1402

Terrible seeing today with high clouds and generally poor visibility, then more clouds rolled in, but not before I was able to capture a few pics of a very large prominence.  Very spectacular sight to see that beautiful prominence hanging off the western limb.

Active Regions 1401 and 1402 from 1-15-2012

Sunspots 1401 and 1402 made a surprise entrance onto the solar disc today, displaying energetic flares and activity.  I was fortunate to capture 30 minutes or so of video (45 second captures) before the clouds rolled in and ended my imaging session.  I can't wait to track this monster active region over the next 12 days.  Hopefully we will see some expansion of these two active regions over the next several days.
